Description

Fort Belvoir Community Hospital has a requirement to procure a patient check-in system. The Goverment intends to procure this system on a sole source basis from Vecna Technologies, Inc. because preliminary market research indicates that only Vecna, as the manufacturer of the system, can provide the required capability because only its system can interface with the hospital's existing DoD 'Composite Health Care System' which manages a patient's medical records. Also, because this system is already in use by another military hospital in the Washington DC area, procurement of this system supports the National Capital Region's equipment standardization program. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations and a solicitation for this requirement will not be issued. Prospective offerors are advised that, because there are no other known sources, the agency has authorized procurement of this item under other than full and open competition under FAR 6.3. However, interested responsible sources may submit a capability statement for the agency's consideration in determining whether a competitive procurement should be conducted for future similar requirements. A copy of the Justification and Approval will be posted no later than 14 days after contract award.
