Description
Request for Information - Tactical Helmets 1. This will be an official Request for Information (RFI) in accordance with FAR Part 52.215-3. Although "proposal" and "offeror" are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated will be solely at the interested party's expense. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on Federal Business Opportunities (FedbizOpps) at https://www.fbo.gov. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement. 2. The 7th Contracting Squadron (7 CONS) intends to procure the following items: - Fourteen (14) Ops- Core Fast Carbon Multi-Cam Helmets size Large (Part number: 59-99-649) - Fourteen (14) Ops- Core Fast Carbon Multi-Cam Helmets size Medium (Part number: 59-99-629) - Twenty-eight (28) Adams Industries - SAM nvg brackets (Part number: AI-SAM-T-AFSOC) - Twenty-eight (28) compatible 3M - Peltor - ComTac ACH Dual Comm headsets (Part number: AFS.ACV.47S) The helmet will be designed with structural integrity to comfortably support binocular style NVG's without the use of counterweights. It will be lightweight and extremely durable carbon fiber shell with a high cut side to allow use of compatible headsets in addition to vent holes for increased ventilation and water drainage. The NVG mount will need to be able to mount to any helmet with a standard mount plate or shroud and can not interfere with headsets. It also needs to be able to be used with or without a helmet cover. In addition, it needs to have a power receptacle for AMC approved NVG's. The 28 3M - Peltor - ComTac ACH Dual Comm Kits will have field hearing protection and combat comminications as well as compatability with the Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH). It needs to feature external microphone for "talk-thru" capability to maintain situational awareness while wearing hearing protection. It will have included gel cushions, Push-To-Talk adapter, and a carrying bag. It will feature level-dependent surround sound, ambidextrous noise-canceling boom microphone, and adjustable sizing to fit different users. The information that is gathered from this RFI may be used to form a formal Request for Quotation at a later time. The NAICS Code for this effort is 315999, Other Apparel Accessories and Other Apparel Manufacturing. Respondents should indicate their size in relation to this size standard and indicate socioeconomic status (i.e. SB, 8(a), HUBZone, EDWOSB, WOSB, or SDVOSB). 3. The aforementioned information along with interest and capability statements are requested to be provided no later than 15 August 2018. Please answer all of the questions in as much detail as possible. 4. The requests for information are as follows: a. Sources capable of providing the requirement. b. Estimated price of the acquisition. c. Estimated delivery schedule. d. Questions and concerns associated with the acquisition. 4. The information that is received from this RFI will be used to make the best decision on how to proceed with this acquisition. All information will be kept within the 7th Contracting Squadron, and will not be shared with any other potential offerors.
