- The work to be performed under this contract consists of the application of herbicides for vegetation control on 102 acres (South Runway) and 25 acres (North Runway) at McCain Field, NAS Meridian for a total of 127 acres. This location work shall be accomplished between the months of August “ October 2018. Sea Ray Target Range shall comprise of 300 acres for application of herbicides for vegetation control. This location work shall be accomplished between the months of March - May 2019. The herbicide vegetation mix shall be in compliant with Federal and state guidelines for aquatic and wooded areas. All application mixes and application shall be in accordance with manufacture instructions. Also, any adjuvant and surfactant needed to increase effectiveness shall be added to the herbicide. Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to perform the site preparation work as identified. When it is determined by the Contracting Officer that the original areas, or portions thereof, are unsuitable or unavailable for performance of the specified work, the Contracting Officer reserves the right to delete areas or to substitute, at the contract price, the same type and amount of work (+/- 10%) in other areas similar in topography and conditions within NAS Meridian. a.Aerial Site Preparation. Contractor shall have a result of at least 85% kill rate on all vegetation no matter what herbicide combination is used. Contractor shall conduct any necessary kill rate until accepted by government (PWD). The application shall be completed during the months of September and October 2018. The aerial spraying will be with a helicopter and all flight requirements will be coordinated with Naval Air Stations Meridian ™s Air Operations. All aerial spraying will be performed when the McCain Field is closed which is usually on Saturdays and a half day on Sundays. Application operations shall not be started or continued if wind is in excess of 5 MPH, or if rain is expected within 2 hours.
