- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal Plant Health Inspection Services (APHIS), Wildlife Services (WS) program in Bismarck, ND intends to award a sole source Purchase Order to Reed-Joseph International Co. located in Greenville, MS for 100 (each) Single Piezo Scareaway bird hazing cannons along with associated parts and accessories. This purchase will be conducted under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i). Reed-Joseph is the manufacturer and the only authorized source for the purchase of these supplies. The bird hazing cannons will be used in support of the statewide blackbird damage management program. The North Dakota Wildlife Services program has used Reed-Joseph propane cannons for many years, and the program staff are well-trained for their usage. The new cannons will augment existing inventory, and the specific parts will be used to repair and maintain the current cannons that are already owned by the program.
