- Foreign National Site Visit Request Form US Citizen Site Visit Request Form This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice for construction to perform miscellaneous piping repairs at Wheeler Lock, located near Rogersville, AL 35652. This procurement falls under NAICS code 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors). PROJECT SCOPE: The scope of the proposed project consists of all operations required for the installation of the piping, valves, unions, and expansion joints as needed to replace failed or failing system components at Wheeler Main Lock for raw water. This includes (1) provide all means and methods for the replacement of failed piping sections, pressure balanced expansion joints, and pressure relief valves located outside the lock wall of the main and auxiliary lock; (2) replace pressure balanced expansion joints in the basement of the lock operations building and lock crossover gallery; and (3) replace ball valves, nipples, union and associated piping in the fireboxes located at the main and auxiliary locks. See the chart on page 15, at Section 22 00 00, subparagraph 2.1.1 of the Technical Specifications for a list of materials required. TYPE OF PROJECT: Firm Fixed-Price Construction Contract. MAGNITUDE OF THE PROJECT: Between $25,000 and $100,000. TYPE OF SET-ASIDE: This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. PRE-AWARD SITE VISIT: An organized site visit has been scheduled to occur during the solicitation period. Quoters should inspect the job site prior to submitting a quote. Quoters should take such other steps as may be reasonably necessary to ascertain the nature and location of the work and the general and local conditions that can affect the work or the cost thereof. Failure to do so will not relieve quoters from the responsibility for properly estimating the difficulty or cost of successfully performing the work. The Government assumes no responsibility for any understanding or representations concerning conditions made by any of its officers, agents or employees, unless included in the solicitation, the specifications or related documents. The organized site visit is tentatively scheduled for 15 August 2018, 10:00 a.m. local time (Central Time Zone) Participants will meet at: General Joe Wheeler Lock, 100 Hwy 101, Rogersville, AL 35652. Registration and background checks will be required for the site visit. Further details will be provided when the solicitation is released and posted, on or after 10 August 2018. Site visit request forms are attached. Return one for each person attending the site visit to the Primary Point of Contact via email, listed above. This will be the only guided site visit for this project. If you miss the scheduled site visit, no other arrangements will be made due to personnel and time restrictions.
