Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The VA Wilkes-Barre Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Alliant Enterprises, LLC, 333 Bride Street NW, Suite 1125, Grand Rapids, MI 49504 to provide Olympus America, Inc Surgical Instruments, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1. Alliant is the exclusive authorized Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business distributor for Olympus. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest; accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than 8/8/18 at 4 PM EST. ALL Responses should be sent to thomas.cossentino@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 339112. The equipment being requested from Aliant/Olympus are required to support our Urology Department. We currently do not have many of the items that are being requested. The urologists on staff have been utilizing the Olympus equipment for many years and are comfortable using them. This equipment will allow us to offer a wide array of services and procedures to our Veterans, and ensure they receive the care they deserve within the VA system; vice having to go to an outside provider. The WBVAMC is in jeopardy of losing the services of the new Urologists if this equipment is not placed in inventory quickly. The procedures they can provide are limited without this equipment. Some items for this Urology Instrument inventory must be purchased from the mandatory source Med/Surg Prime Vendor. Other items must be purchased via Prosthetics. It is imperative that the items be BRAND NAME EXACT ITEMS as listed, so that all parts/equipment pieces will be compatible with items purchased/received via MSPV and Prosthetics purchases.
