Description

This requirement requires operation (opening/closing) of the Anti-boat Barrier System (ABS) gate in the port/harbor of Naval Station Rota Spain for all U. S. DOD assets, Spanish Navy, and NATO small craft and ships that require access in and/or out of the harbor. The Naval Station Rota Harbor Anti-boat Barrier System (ABS) is a series of interconnected floating elements that are installed to: control access points; reduce exposure and protect critical assets and infrastructure vulnerable to sea attack; and deter, retard or stop watercraft intent on doing harm The Contractor shall operate (open/close) the ABS to facilitate all United States, Host Nation and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) small craft and ship access in and/or out of the Naval Station Rota Harbor. The operation of the large gate is notated in the form of movements. Opening and Closing the barrier consists of two movements. The Government estimates an average of 180 movements per month inclusive of normal working hours and as necessary on Saturdays and Sundays as well as unscheduled/emergency situations. Additionally, contractor may be required to Open/Close the small gate with the large gate as necessary.
