This is a SOURCES SOUGHT request only. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The Government is NOT committed to award a contract pursuant to this announcement. This notice is published for market research purposes only. This notice is open to qualified business sources of all sizes. Information is sought regarding: The availability and capability of all qualified business sources; Whether qualified business sources are Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), small businesses, or large businesses; Vendor shall be and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized dealer, authorized distributor or authorized reseller for the proposed equipment/system such that the OEM warranty and service provided are maintained by the OEM. Provide verification when submitting quote; If the items are available via VA NAC, GSA Advantage, and/or open market; Size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 334510 for the proposed acquisition. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. The Government is seeking potential sources for the Optotrak Certus system described below or equal product(s). The equal item(s) shall meet or exceed the required item(s). For equal item(s): submit detailed documentation, (i.e. descriptive literature, specifications, illustrations, pictures) stating why/how the item(s) meet or exceed each brand name item (address all stated salient characteristics). Use multiple position sensors in a common co-ordinate system 1 The Optotrak Certus will be used at the Salt Lake VA Medical Center Research Service. Laboratory mechanical testing of osseointegrated implant systems can be performed on systems like an MTS or Instron machine, and/or a FANUC robot, already in use by the Research Service. Each of those systems can move the work pieces and record the forces applied to them. An optical measurement system is required to add the ability to provide data on work piece displacement and deformation during testing. The Optotrak Certus system is plug-and-play with the existing mechanical testing systems within the Research Service. Custom software is already written to interface the Optotrak with an existing MTS, Instron and FANUC robot in the laboratory, to collect motion data synchronized to the respective mechanical system. Choosing another motion analysis system would require all fundamental control and data collection software to be rewritten for a different platform. This would halt the progress of experiments until new software could be written and validated for each machine.
