- Announcement and Purchase Specifications SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: Solicitation Number: Noti ce Type: FA8224-18-R-0802SG Sources Sought Synopsis : 1. NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Soug ht Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. 1. 1 The purpose of th i s Sources Sou g ht i s to conduct market research to determ i ne i f r espons i b l e sources ex i st, to assist in determ i n i ng i f th i s effort can be compet i tive an d /or a total Small Bus i ness Set-As i de. The proposed North American I ndustry C l ass i ficat i on Systems (NA I CS) Code i s 337127 wh i ch has a correspond i ng S i ze s tandard of 500. The Government w i ll use th i s i nformat i on to determ i ne the best acqu i s i t i on strategy for this procurement. The Government is i nterested i n all small businesses to include 8(a), Serv i c e - Disabled Veteran­Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small busi ness concerns. The government requests that i nterested parties r e s pond to th i s not i ce if applicab l e and i dentify your small business status to the identified NA I CS code. Addit i onally, p l ease pr o v i de any antic i pated team i ng arran g ement s, along w i th a descr i pt i on of s i m i lar serv i ces offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Program Details: THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. No solicitation is available. This Sources Sought is released pursuant to FAR Part 15.201(e), Exchanges with Industry. The U.S.A.F. is currently in the acquisition planning stage for the eventual award of the supplies and services described in the attached Purchase Specifications which follow. All interested firms are invited to submit a capability statement of no more than five (5) pages, and no smaller than 12 point Times New Roman font. The capability statement should demonstrate the interested firm's understanding, capability, approach, qualification, and past experience in meeting the work requirements identified in the Purchase Specifications. Finally, interested firms should identify challenges and risks associated with meeting the requirements of the Purchase Specifications and how the organization would minimize those risks. The Government will review the capability statement to determine if the interested firm is capable of satisfying the requirements based on its demonstrated understanding, Moreover, all capability statements must also include (not counting towards the 5 page limit): the name of the firm, or firms if a teaming arrangement is proposed, point of contact, phone number, address of firm(s), and the DUNS number for the prime entity. The U.S.A.F. reserves the right to use any and all information submitted by, or obtained from, an interested firm in any manner it determines is appropriate, including, but not limited to, the creation of a competitive solicitation. An interested party should avoid including any classified, business confidential, and/or proprietary information in its response. However, if an interested firm must submit such information, the information must be clearly marked, and the interested firm must provide sufficient justification as to why such information is business confidential and/or proprietary. The U.S.A.F. will review the information and safeguard it appropriately. The Government will not pay for any information that is provided in response to this Sources Sought / RFI nor will it compensate any respondents for the development of such information. (Skip) Gregory 801-586-9170 Donald.gregory.4@us.af.mil Purchase Specifications 7/26/2018 Workbench and Worktable Requirements for New Flight Controls Shop at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. This is a Brand Name or Equal requirement. The Brand Name is Lista. Tables 1 and 2 show the Lista part numbers. The dimensions below have a tolerance which varies from the Lista parts, to allow other contractors to respond to the sources sought and to the solicitation. •· Contractor will supply 23 new workbenches, each of which meets the following criteria. Each criterion is followed by a reference number to a part number which fulfills that criterion, found in Table 1. These part numbers are provided as a suggestion, and are not required for an acceptable quote. Parts used to fulfill the requirements need not be made by Lista, however all parts used in an acceptable quote must be mutually compatible. •· Workbenches will be 86"-96.5" inches long at the work surface (1). If work surface is less than 95.5" long, the workbench will also include: •o A computer console support on a pivoting arm, capable of holding a keyboard, monitor, and mousepad. (2, 3) •· The work surface will be 29-32" inches deep (1). •· The work surface will be made of a 1.4" to 2" thick hardwood table surface (such as Ash) with a rounded edge facing the user (1). •· The work surface will be equipped with a backstop 1" to 5" tall to prevent small parts from rolling off the back of the work table. (4) •· The work surface and the frame it rests on will be rated to hold at least an 800-lb distributed load. (1, 5) •· The work table surface will rest on a frame which allows the height of the work surface to be adjusted without tools. This must allow the minimum height of the work surface to be less than 31", and the maximum height of the work surface to be greater than 37". This may be accomplished using either a push-button system, or a hand crank (5). If a hand crank is used, the crank handle should be easily removable or foldable, so as not to protrude from the front of the bench more than 1.5" when not in use. •· The workbench frame will rest on electrostatic dissipative (ESD) casters. At least 2 of the casters will have a locking mechanism. (6) •· The workbench will include one hanging cabinet with three drawers, positioned at one side of the work bench just below the work surface. (7) •· The work bench will include a modular frame mounted at the rear of the work surface, extending usable area 40" to 50" above the work table surface. The modular frame will consist of three supports which are equally spaced 40"-46" apart, allowing accessories mounted on the modular frame to be moved and rearranged on either side of the workbench. (8, 9) •· The modular frame will include a bracket or fixed top shelf to support an overhead light or lights. (10, 11) •· Accessories to be mounted on the modular frame will include: •o A binder/document holder at least 16" wide on a pivoting arm. (12) •o A 40"-46" wide magnetic whiteboard at least 24" tall. (13) •o Two 40"-46" wide, 10-14" deep adjustable shelves which are reversible and can be configured to either sit flat with a lip in back, or sit sloped toward the technician with a lip in front. (14) •o A 40"-46" wide storage cabinet with door(s), whose door(s) will not cover the top of the cabinet when opened. (15, 16) •o One 110 Volt AC GFCI power rail with at least 6 standard power outlets. (17) •o One 40"-46" wide rail for holding small, plastic, open storage containers, including two 6 x 6 x 2 inch boxes, and two 3 x 6 x 3 inch boxes. (18, 19, 20) •· It is preferred that all painted parts be black. Any other dark color is also acceptable, as is unpainted stainless steel. If locks are included on the cabinets/drawers (not required), two keys shall be provided for each lock. •· Contractor shall provide a concept drawing of their proposed solution. If manufacture's standard warranty period exceeds 12 months, then the standard warranty period shall be in effect. •· Payment will be made to the contractor after the assigned engineer has verified satisfactory installation of the workbenches and worktables, with a minimum of 12 months against defects in material or workmanship. •· Items furnished shall be the latest improved model in current production, as offered to commercial trade, and shall be of quality workmanship and material. The supplier represents that all items offered are new at the time of delivery. •· All parts not specifically mentioned, but which are necessary for the unit to be complete for operation, or are normally furnished as standard, shall be furnished by the contractor.
