Description
STATEMENT OF NEED AND SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS The Vet Center located at 2500 Baldwick Road, Suite 15, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 (Pittsburgh Vet Center) is in need of office furniture to replace worn and unserviceable items and to furnish an additional office that auxiliary staff (i.e. Veteran Service Officers) use to provide services to Veterans and their family members. The Pittsburgh Vet Center provides individual counseling, group counseling, marriage and family counseling, and outreach to warzone Veterans and their family members. The Pittsburgh Vet Center comprises of six staff members: one Vet Center Director, one Office Manager, two Readjustment Counseling Therapists, one Marriage and Family Therapist, and one Veterans Outreach Program Specialist. The Pittsburgh Vet Center has seven individual offices for the staff and auxiliary staff, one waiting room for Veterans and other clients, one group counseling room, one conference room, and one common area/lounge for Veterans and other clients. Additionally, the Pittsburgh Vet Center provides space for community resource providers to deliver their services to Veterans and their family members, and with that addition, the Pittsburgh Vet Center needs office furniture for that person to be able to perform required duties. Additionally, the Pittsburgh Vet Center is replacing most of its existing office furniture, due to that furniture being unserviceable. The Pittsburgh Vet Center is requesting the following furniture to replace existing furniture that has become unserviceable and to improve the functionality of the leased space for the group room, conference room, and common area/lounge: (3) Monterrey, one seat lounge (N90AA-MHMH-463770_25-CL) (1) Monterrey, two seat lounge (N90BB-MHMH-463770_25-CL) (3) Monterrey, three seat lounge (N90BB-MHMH-463770_025-CL) (1) Wave Works, 42Dx84W, conference top, rectangle, HPL (WWN4284RT2L-VMC-G10C-X-X-STD-CW) (1) Universal, for 84W top, panel base kit, laminate (10N84PNKL-P1-X-CW) (15) Jimmy, guest, arms, static (N52GHA-2-22185-462-STD) (4) Tag, square table, laminate top (N60SGL-492-492) The requested chairs are very comfortable for clients to sit in, and will allow clients to relax in order to discuss their difficult traumatic combat experiences in a therapeutic setting. The end tables will allow display of informational brochures and magazines relating to Veteran services and benefits. The requested conference table will allow Vet Center staff to conduct staff meetings, and professional meetings and trainings with other community resources and stakeholders. The Salient Characteristics of the above furniture are that: it matches the existing office furniture, fits the available space properly, is comfortable, is easy to clean and keep clean, and is very durable. The Pittsburgh Vet Center is requesting the following furniture to replace existing furniturePlease tell me how many full office are being set up and what we are matching that has become unserviceable and to improve the functionality of each of the offices. The desks, task chairs, bookcases, and lateral files will enable the staff to perform and complete their assigned duties as Readjustment Counselors, Vet Center Director, Office Manager, and Auxiliary staff. The bookcase, lateral file, and desk will assist the staff in organizing their work materials while providing space for them to complete their work. Need facts not a general opinion While a variety of products may be found to meet most of the salient characteristics listed above, it is imperative to purchase these particular items so that they match existing furniture that is not being replaced. The Pittsburgh Vet Center is a facility maintained primarily for Veterans and other clients rather than for employee use.
