- Appendix Request for Information / Special Notice - Rideshare opportunities on the NOAA JPSS-2 launch As part of its advanced planning for future environmental systems, NOAA is soliciting information on future operational payload concepts, integrated with a spacecraft, that can fly as a rideshare on the Joint Polar Satellite System's (JPSS-2) ESPA ring. The launch is currently scheduled for late 2021. The payload will fly as one of up to six Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA)-class spacecraft under the JPSS-2 spacecraft. Figure 1 is a drawing of the JPSS-2 ESPA ring with six notional ESPA-class spacecraft (also referred to as Auxiliary Payloads, APL). This RFI notice is for informational purposes only.
