Description
PDF of office where filing system is to be relocated to. Please see this Statement of Work for full requirements included under this order Relocation of High-Density Filing System a. Requirement The U.S. Department of Labor Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP) requires the relocation of one (1) White Aisle-Saver high-density mobile filing system from the US Department of Labor - OIG office located at 201 Varick Street, Room 871 (8th floor), New York, NY 10014 to the US Department of Labor - OWCP office located at 201 Varick Street, Room 740 (7th floor). The Contractor must be an authorized Aisle-Saver installer and be regularly engaged in the disassembly, installation, relocation, and maintenance of Aisle-Saver mobile high-density filing systems, and have a proven track record of installing, relocating, and maintaining systems of a similar size as the existing system. The Contractor shall have a local representative and a local authorized service organization. Existing parts should be re-used to the maximum extent practicable, but it is understood that the rails and decking will likely need to be replaced. Additional new components will also be required to convert existing shelves for file storage. Carpet tiles were just installed in the recently redone space in Room 740. These existing carpet tiles will need to be removed prior to reinstallation of the unit. The carpet tiles should be re-used if possible. If all or some of the existing tiles cannot be re-used, new tiles will be provided, as we have spare tiles on hand. The top shelf of unit should be converted to be used as a 7th level to store records. Shelving reinforcements should be added to this level, to prevent files from falling off the back of the unit. Center dividers should be added to all shelves on all levels for file storage. b. Site Visit A walk-through of the space is scheduled for Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. If you wish to participate, please contact Debra Reynolds at 617-788-2848, or via email at reynolds.debra@dol.gov to confirm. c. Relocation Services The Contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, and operating supplies/services required to disassemble, relocate and reassemble the high density filing system. All work will take place during regular business hours. A loading dock is available to un-load any components you are providing. There is a freight elevator which is available for use during this project. Required parts and services include, but are not limited to, the following (items do not need to be completed in the order stated below): • At Room 871, disassemble high-density filing system (filing system will be empty and ready for dismantling upon your arrival). • Remove and dispose of any related trash and debris from Room 871. • Remove existing carpet tiles (retain for re-use if possible) on floor of Room 740 where system is to be relocated to. • Relocate high-density filing system components to Room 740. • At Room 740, install rail, deck, and flooring for filing unit. Existing carpet tiles for the file system deck should be re-used if possible. If not, new tiles will be provided by DOL to match existing flooring in file room. • At Room 740, reassemble high-density filing system, utilizing existing materials to the maximum extent practicable. New shelving components should also be installed. • Remove and dispose of excess filing system components. • Reinstalled unit shelving should be wiped clean to remove dust and other debris. • Remove and dispose of any related trash and debris from Room 740. The Contractor is welcome to propose alternatives to the services as detailed above, if they can provide a more cost-effective solution, or a solution that provides a better value overall to the government. Multiple solutions may also be proposed. Quotes should be based on non-union labor, performed during normal business hours. Vendors must have an active Registration in www.SAM.gov, and a valid DUNS Number should be included in the quote. The US Department of Labor is a government entity, and as such, is exempt from all federal, state and local taxes. d. Period of Performance The exact period of performance for the disassembly, relocation and reassembly of the high-density filing system is to be determined, but work is anticipated to begin prior to end of current fiscal year ending 9/30/2018. e.
