- Description
- This contract action is for the acquisition of supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1). The National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS), Office of Acquisitions (OA) intends to award a single source purchase order to Doric Lenses, Inc., 357 Rue Franquest, Quebec, QC, Canada, GIP 4N7, for vivo fiber photometry recording equipment. The purpose of this equipment is to resolve neuronal activity in awake behaving animals. This optical hardware will be used to record from multiple animals/sites simultaneously, providing a flexible filter cube arrangement that allows for multiple options of motion artifact correction (UV lock-in demodulation or multi-spectral normalization) and utilizes high sensitivity low-noise photodectors that do not require an air table. The Doric Lenses equipment is compatible with the TDT data acquisition system that is being procured for the lab. This customized filter cube technology allows the lab to replace a large bulky optical table with a small, portable and more reliable device. The 6-port configuration allows for two different options for normalization of the photometry signal and simultaneous optical stimulation for optogenetics. Outputting the filtered signal to their low noise photodector removes the need for an air table, which allows the system to be portable. The fiber optic patch cables and commutator are specially designed to reduce optical noise artifacts such as autofluorescence. The items listed below are all part of the main component of this equipment, item #6. Line Item Description: 1. LEDD 4, LED Driver, 4 Channel Model, (Quantity=1 UN) 2.
