- Description
- The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineering Research and Development Center - Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) in Champaign, IL has a requirement to provide quarterly on site preventative maintenance and any repairs (to include parts and labor) outside of the quarterly PM's for two steam autoclaves (Beta Star and Sterilco) located in the Microbiology Laboratory (room 1039) at ERDC-CERL in Champaign, IL (to include the base year and 3 option years). Market research has found that Scientific Services Plus (SSP) is the only source reasonably available to satisfy the Government's requirement. SSP has been the preventative maintenance service provider for the previous four (4) years, and moreover has recently completed several repairs to both autoclaves. Although it is possible for another service provider to satisfy the requirement, in doing so the work of another provider would void all warranties on the repairs (and maintenance) that SSP has completed to date. ERDC-CERL intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Scientific Services Plus in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811219 which has a size standard of $20,500,000.00. This is not a small business set aside. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement. Any interested party that believes they can fulfill this requirement should submit a capability statement to be reviewed. All submissions will be considered, however there is no guarantee that submissions in response to this notice will be in any way alter the Government's acquisition strategy. Please provide responses to this notice no later than 7 August 2018, at 12:00 pm, Central Time, to: CERL.QUOTES@usace.army.mil Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses to this notice will not be considered as a response to any solicitation, a request to be added to a prospective offerors list, or to receive a copy of any solicitation. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
