Description
This is an amendment to the Request for Quotations for removing structures, pilings, and docks from 18 property sites located partly in Clallam County in the Lake Crescent subdistrict and partly in Grays Harbor County located in the Quinault subdistrict, of Olympic National Park, WA. This amendment is necessary to provide Questions/Answers, and to extend the response date. AMENDMENT 001 - QUESTIONS/ANSWERS (Q&A): 1. Q: What are the approved NPS topsoil sources? 1. A: NPS has purchased topsoil from Cascade Bark Landscape Supplies, 11 Washington Harbor Road, Sequim, WA 98382 (phone 360-582-9592), and purchased Cascade Bark's own mixture that contains Alder sawdust, red fine bark, aged cow manure, and dark fine bark. 2. Q: Can on-board electric scales on my truck be used when recycling materials rather than having to use stationary scales at a yard? 2. A: This should be acceptable. Calibration should be checked on the first load. 3. Q: Site 11 - do all of the rip rap rockery/terraces need to be removed? 3. A: The rip rap will remain in place. 4. Q: Do the well heads at some of the sites need to be capped or decommissioned? 4. A: There is a well at 8 Viewpoint Lane that has been decommissioned. NPS is not aware of any others. 5. Q: Bates House - the concrete bulkhead that spans from Thompson's to the Scott's, if removed from the Bates residence would leave a weak void to the other homeowners houses. Could it be left to avoid future problems? 5. A: The bulkhead is not part of the scope, nor is any aspect of the concrete work that would impact adjacent properties. CLARIFICATION: The response date shown in the original synopsis page as August 23rd was incorrect. The written text of the original synopsis stated the response date as August 8th, which was correct. NEW RESPONSE DATE: Response date is changed from 4:30pm (PST) on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, to 4:30pm (PST) on Friday, August 10, 2018. Submit questions to Phaedra Fuller, Contracting Officer at email address Phaedra_Fuller@nps.gov. Final questions due by 2pm (PST) on Monday, August 9, 2018.
