Description

Purpose and Objectives: The intent of this Sources Sought Notice is to identify in locating capable small businesses, including Service Disabled and Veteran Owned small businesses, or any business size, capable of providing the items as listed in the attached Statement of Need. NAICS Code 334513, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. This equipment is for the Department of Veteran Affairs, Corporal Michael J Crenscenz VAMC, Research Service, Philadelphia, PA. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice should demonstrate the firm's ability, capability, and responsibility to provide the principal components of supplies listed in the attached document. Responses should include the following information: Business name, address, Point of Contact, business size info. All information is to be submitted via e-mail at donna.cooper2@va.gov. Information provided will not be returned. All responses shall be in the English Language. Responses are due by 2:00pm EST on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. No submissions will be accepted after this date and time. Questions can be submitted electronically to donna.cooper2@va.gov. Purchasing light sheet microscope for research building Background. Light sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM) is a fluorescence microscopy technique that provides high speed imaging and optical resolution by using an optical sectioning technique. Unlike traditional epifluorescence microscopy, a laser light-sheet illuminates only a thin slice of the sample perpendicular to the direction of observation. Only imaged section is illuminated, drastically reducing photodamage and stress, which allows for long-term imaging of biological sample. Moreover, the hihg optical sectioning capability reduces the background signal, creating images with higher contrast, comparable to confocal microscopy. Light-sheet microscopy allows image acquisition at speeds 100 to 1000 times faster than those offered by point-scanning methods, such as confocal imaging, making this instrument especially useful for imaging large cleared tissue. Scope. The contractor will provide a Luxendo MuVi-SPIM-20x dual detection light sheet microscope with the following additional specifications: Luxendo MuVi SPIM Extension for Cleared Sample Imaging Module necessary for imaging large cleared tissue Luxendo MuVi SPIM Magnification Changer Luxendo MuVi SPIM Beam Expander 405 nm laser for Luxendo SPIM 2 x BP 427-474 filter cubes 488 nm laser for Luxendo SPIM 2 x BP 497-554 filter cubes 561 nm laser for Luxendo SPIM 2 x BP 580-627 filter cubes 642 nm laser for Luxendo SPIM 2 x BP 655-704 filter cubes Luxendo MuVi SPIM Photomanipulation Unit VIS Module necessary for simultaneous optogenetic stimulation and image detection Luxendo MuVi SPIM Photomanipulation Additional Laser Additional 660 nm laser for optogenetic stimulation Luxendo Data Storage and Processing Unit 100 TB storage server No access to VA network Contractor will also include on-site installation and training. Contractor will include a basic service contract covering a yearly preventative maintenance visit for three years starting one year after purchase. The first year is covered under a manufacturer warranty.
