- Purpose and Objectives: The intent of this Sources Sought Notice is to identify potential offerors capable of providing SENTINAL XL PAPR System, Universal, NiMH, Polycarbonate Respirators. These are for the Erie VA Medical Center in Erie, PA 16504. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice should demonstrate the firm's ability, capability, and responsibility to provide the principal components of supplies listed in the attached document. Responses should include the following information: Verify that the business is under 339113 of the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), Verification of Size Standard under the NAICS, Business name, address, Point of Contact, and if the business has verification as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business or Veteran Owned Small Business. All information is to be submitted via e-mail at Daniel.Johnson44@va.gov. Information provided will not be returned. All responses shall be in the English Language. Responses are due by 12:00 P.M. (EST) on Thursday, July 19, 2017. No submissions will be accepted after this date and time. Questions can be submitted electronically to Daniel.Johnson44@va.gov. This is a Sources Sought Notice and submissions will be used for informational and planning purposes only. This notice does not constitute a formal Request for Quote (RFQ), nor is the government obligated to issue an RFQ. In addition, the Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. Statement of Need For the Erie VA Medical Center SENTINAL XL PAPR System, Universal, NiMH, Polycarbonate Respirators Background The Erie VA Medical Center has a requirement for twenty (20) new SENTINAL XL PAPR System, Universal, NiMH, Polycarbonate Respirators in addition to the 6 on station to outfit a complete DECON Team. These units will be used by employees participating in the First Responders Decontamination Program. Staff involved includes those with direct patient decontamination and VA Police Officers. The Sentinel PAPR (powered air-purifying respirator) manufactured by ILC are being purchased to replace the discontinued 3M PAPR s and associated equipment used by Erie Decontamination response team. Salient Characteristics The SENTINAL XL PAPR System, Universal, NiMH, Polycarbonate Respirators is the only loose hood CAP 2 Powered Air Purifying Respirator certified by NIOSH and allowed to be used for DECON operations approved by OSHA. SENTINAL XL PAPR System, Universal, NiMH, Polycarbonate Respirators must have: NIOSH TC-23C-2312 CAP 2 approved for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear use with appropriate filters installed. Equipped with either NiMH or Lithium Ion batteries Self-contained unit within the backpack requiring no assembly prior to use. Loose fitting hood with dual chamber blower unit. Butyl hood must be capable of being stored flat to save space. Blower must be convertible to medical use with adaptors for medical specific hoods. Blower must be able to accommodate HEPA filters. Functional with an adaptor that enables the use of D cell batteries. The Sentinel CBRN configuration can be worn with the NIOSH approved backpack or belt mounted design. The unique backpack approach allows the unit to be comfortably carried in a stowed configuration thereby increasing your readiness. Each Unit must include: Blower with battery 3 CBRN filters CBRN Filter Cartridges, Size Universal, Cartridge Type CBRN Cartridges, Color Code Black, For Use With CBRN System, NIOSH Approval NIOSH Approved TC-23C-2312, Includes 3 CBRN Cartridges Lay flat butyl hood with comfort headband Headbands, Size Universal, Color Code Gray, For Use With CBRN System, Includes 5 Antimicrobial Headbands Battery charger (for rechargeable systems) Flow meter User's manual CBRN Backpack Training and Installation None required Shipping All items to be delivered to: Erie VA Medical Center Attention: Warehouse 135 E. 38th Street Erie, PA 16504 Delivery will be during normal working hours, between 7:30am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
