- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE-SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The intent of this Special notice is for informational purposes only. The USDA-ARS-NCAUR-Peoria, IL, intends to award a sole source procurement to Applikon Biotechnology, Inc., 1180 Chess Dr., Foster City, CA 94404-1107 pursuant to the authority of 41 U.S.C 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will satisfy Agency Requirements. The award will be for a Shake Flask Monitoring System to be used in the Bionergy Unit in Peoria, IL. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price Purchase Order for the shake flask monitoring system on or about July 27, 2018 using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This Notice of Intent is not considered a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a Request for Proposals (RFP). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. The NAICS code for this action is 334516. ARS requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must have an "Active Registration" in SAM (System for Award Management). For additional information, please access the following website: http://www.sam.gov Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The government may consider all responses received by 12pm CST, July 26, 2017. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no written responses are received after the publication of this notice, the purchase will be awarded without further notice.
