Description
Sole Source Document THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The USDA/ARS intends to award a Firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source, to: NanoCellect Biomedical, Inc 6865 Flanders Drive Suite A San Diego, CA 92121 Description of Requirement: The objective of this sole source award is to procure the following items: 1. Sterility: The entire fluid path is supplied sterilized with ethylene oxide. 2. Viability: The large dispensing channels and low-pressure system increase viability over droplet-based sorters. 3. Disposability: Users have the option of using a fresh cartridge and tubing set when needed. 4. Portability: At less than 1 cubic foot and 5 pounds, the N1 can be routinely moved around the lab or into a laminar flow hood, as needed. 5. Two-way sorting: The dispenser has two sorting paths for true two-way sorting. 6. Biosafety: The low-pressure system does not produce aerosols and does not require a biosafety containment system. The entire sample and sheath fluid paths are disposable, eliminating the need to perform decontamination. 7. Accuracy: The system can place single particles in >90% of wells without the need for operator expertise. 8. Microfluidic Plating: The only microfluidic system that can do both bulk sorting and plating of cells. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334516; the small business size standard is 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 3:00 PM Central Time on July 19, 2018, will be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Lynn Hults at lynn.hults@ars.usda.gov. The e-mail subject line shall state: 1232SC18P-923906 Notice of Intent to Sole Source.
