Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to issue sole-source firm-fixed one-time procurement of Emergency for UPS Replacement for use at the Birmingham VAMC, 700 19TH Street South, Birmingham, AL 35233. A sole source procurement will be issued to Southern Building Company. Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, materials, parts, tools, design / engineering, supervision, services and incidentals necessary to REPLACE 65KVA UPS system. Contractor shall perform work / tasks directly related to the demolition and removal off-site of existing 52kW UPS, the procurement and installation of a new 60kW UPS system, scalable to 100kW. Contractor shall, using one-line (single line) diagrams and as-builts, design, install and test the new UPS system utilizing critical power panel E4G located in ground floor Substation #4. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b)(2), "soliciting from a sole source." The NAICS code is 236220 and has a size standard of $36.5 million for this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 1:00pm EST, June 13, 2018 to: Earnest.Ellison@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. After a review of the responses received, a pre-solicitation synopsis and solicitation may be published in GSA eBUY or FBO.gov. However, responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation. Determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
