- SOURCES SOUGHT THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING PROJECT: THIS IS OPEN UNTIL JULY 17, 2018 PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR REPLY TOO: GARY.SMITH4@VA.GOV The Greater Los Angeles VAMC Healthcare System, 11301 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90073, has a requirement to improve steam distribution system, Building 256. A Firm-Fixed Price Construction Contract award is anticipated. The contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, materials, parts, tools, supervision, and construction services necessary in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations / standards to execute improve steam distribution system per contract drawings and specifications. The magnitude of this VA construction project is estimated to be between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 USD. The Period of Performance for this project will be 275 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Veterans First Public Law 109-461 as a 100% certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. The NAICS code for this project is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, and the small business size standard is $36.5 Million. UPGRADE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CLOSETS SEPULVEDA 691A4-16-103SM VA SEPULVEDA HEALTHCARE CENTER GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1.1 GENERAL INTENTION A. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for Project 691A4-16-103SM, Upgrade IT Closets; VA Sepulveda Healthcare Center, 16111 Plummer St., North Hills, CA 91343 as required by drawings and specifications. B. Visits to the site by Bidders may be made only by appointment with the Medical Center Engineering Officer. C. Offices of Nikolakopulos, Inc., as Architect-Engineers, will render certain technical services during construction. Such services shall be considered as advisory to the Government and shall not be construed as expressing or implying a contractual act of the Government without affirmations by Contracting Officer or their duly authorized representative. D. All employees of general contractor and subcontractors shall comply with VA security management program and obtain permission of the VA police, be identified by project and employer, and restricted from unauthorized access. E. Prior to commencing work, general contractor shall provide proof that a OSHA certified competent person (CP) (29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2) will maintain a presence at the work site whenever the general or subcontractors are present. F. Training: 1. All employees of general contractor or subcontractors shall have the 10-hour OSHA certified Construction Safety course for on-site staff and 30 additional hours for project superintendent (competent person) and/or other relevant competency training, as determined by VA CP with input from the ICRA team. 2. Submit training records of all such employees for approval before the start of work. 1.2 STATEMENT OF BID ITEM(S) A. ITEM I, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION: Work includes replacement of all IT closet lighting and switches; plug-in strips with rack-mounted PDU s; HVAC system adjustment as necessary to maintain 72 °F. max; installation of Hirsch key card access system, and associated conduit and wiring. UPGRADE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CLOSETS SEPULVEDA 691A4-16-103SM VA SEPULVEDA HEALTHCARE CENTER Final Submittal GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 01 00 00 - 3 September 5, 2017 Work also includes construction of a new IT closet in B99, including lighting, power, control, HVAC, and IT equipment racks as necessary for relocation and consolidation of IT equipment from existing electrical rooms. Existing riser conduits shall be used as much as possible. 1. Contract completion time shall be: a. Construction 275 calendar days. B. ITEM II, OPTION NO.1 (Deductive Bid): All work identified in ITEM I, excluding area designated as 10% Alternate Bid Deduct on the drawings. Contract completion time shall be 250 calendar days. C. ITEM III, OPTION NO.2 (Deductive Bid): All work identified in ITEM I, excluding area designated as 20% Alternate Bid Deduct on the drawings.Contract completion time shall be 225 calendar days.
