- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Albuquerque Veterans Health System, intends to a BRAND NAME ONLY acquisition for of an automatic sample picker that will handle biological samples in -20C to -80C environment. The VA s Office of Research & Development s Cooperative Studies Program, Clinical Research Pharmacy Coordinating Center (PCC) has been designated as the backup site to the VA s Central Biorepository located in Boston for tissue storage. As the backup site, the PCC needs to maintain samples in the sample configuration (vials, boxes, and racks) and inventoried in the same manner as the primary facility to maintain the integrity of VA research programs and protection of patient samples. This equipment should have the ability to pick up samples specified by the operator from multiple input sample racks, and relocate them to a collection area for samples output. The equipment should run automatically without user intervention once the process is started. Furthermore, the equipment should have the ability to maintain the samples integrity when the picking process was stop due to unexpected errors during its automatic operation. To ensure PCC storage information mirrors Boston s an identical sample management system is required. Hamiton Storage is the only manufacturer for this specific brand name/model sample management system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than July 19th, 12:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
