- SOURCES SOUGHT NOTIFICATION The US Army Medical Command, Regional Health Contracting Office-Central, Fort Carson Health Contracting Cell is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties that have an interest in providing Cochlear Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) Systems for Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO. Salient Characteristics below: •· Thinner and stronger •o With increased impact resistance, the Nucleus Profile is almost two times stronger than the most reliable implant ever built, the previous generation Nucleus CI24RE device. 6 •· Side by side electrode lead exit •o The Profile Series simplifies surgical planning, with the same procedure for a left and right ear. All while achieving a thinner, more protected design. •· Smooth surface for anti-bacterial protection •o The geometry and surface finish of the Profile Series have been built to minimize bacterial formation. •· The only true perimodiolar electrode in the industry •o The Nucleus Profile Implant with Contour Advance electrode (CI512) has a coated stylet to facilitate a smooth advance off stylet technique and promote minimally traumatic, scala tympani insertions. •o Smallest in the industry The Baha 5 Sound Processor is the smallest bone conduction sound processor in the industry. Measuring a mere 26 mm in height, it is 13% smaller than the Baha 4 Sound Processor and at least 20% smaller than all other bone conduction sound processors. 12 Despite its size, the Baha 5 Sound Processor delivers the same power output as the industry-leading Baha 4. 13 More discreet The smaller size and improved range of hair-matching colors make it easier for patients who prioritize discretion to hide their sound processor. Direct streaming The Baha 5 Sound Processor makes it easier for patients to enjoy their music, games, movies, apps - even a FaceTime® call to family on the other side of the world. With clear audio streamed directly to their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 339112 - "Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing". The Small Business Size Standard is 1,000 employees. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.
