- Description
- THIS ACQUISITION WAS 100% SET ASIDE FOR THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER STRUCTURES MATOC HOLDERS. The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment, extending two (2) existing dikes at Ajax Bar, constructing two (2) new dikes and extending one (1) existing dike at Ben Lomond, and extending one (1) existing dike that requires a dig-in at Baleshed Landing. These dikes are located in Issaquena County, Mississippi. Principal features of the work include mobilization and demobilization; furnishing, delivering, and placing Graded Stone "A"; clearing, grubbing, snagging and excavation; surveying; and environmental protection. This work will be performed in the Mississippi River and varying water depths and currents may be encountered. Currents usually encountered at the sites of the work during low water period may vary from about one mile per hour to about six miles per hour. Construction of the dikes may require both floating plant and land based equipment. The work shall be completed as expeditiously as possible even though river conditions may become increasingly severe as construction progresses. The work requires steady and uninterrupted progress to minimize loss of stone during construction.
