- J&A for LARS OTG THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSIS! The 45th Contracting Squadron has a sole source requirement for Lightweight Airborne Recovery System (LARS) radio with a period of performance of nine months after award. This is a Sole Source with Cubic Defense Applications, Inc. IAW FAR 13.501(a)(2)(i). IAW FAR 5.207(c)(15) Cubic Defense Applications, Inc. is the only source capable of fulfilling the government's requirement which is to procure testing and purchase of the LARS radio. This technology/radio is utilized by Combat Search and Rescue crews to provide range and steering information to compatible radios. These specifications are a unique requirement to support Human Space Flight Support operations that could potentially require a roll-on/off LARS capability that can be employed on airframes with a global reach capability. No solicitation documents exist at this time. This item utilizes North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 334511. IAW FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii) All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider any responses from capable sources received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis to tiffany.thornton.3@us.af.mil.
