Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veteran Affairs, Iowa City, IA, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority FAR 6.302-3 with the University of Iowa for the period of 6/1/2018 to 5/31/2019 for The Contractor will provide labor and materials to test the hypothesis that P-AscH- can reduce metastatic disease in PDAC via H202-mediated inhibition of HIF-1 -induced EMT. This Performance Work Statement is to conduct research that will propose that targeting invasion and metastases by exploiting fundamental differences in cancer cell oxidative metabolism using pharmacological ascorbate can enhance therapy outcomes in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, in support of research project, "Mechanisms of pharmacological ascorbate inhibition of pancreatic cancer metastases," Principal Investigator: Joseph Cullen, MD, Grant #BX001318. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
