- Description
- Manatee DMMA RFI Manatee Hbr DMMA Figures 1, Figures 2 and Figures 3 This notice constitutes a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI). This announcement seeks information from industry and will ONLY be used for preliminary planning purposes. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS RFI. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. The Government will not pay for any response expenses. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government is specifically interested in technologies, methodologies, ideas and solutions for the Manatee Harbor DMMA offload to Washington Park Project. The information received will be used to support a market analysis for the project goal of creating additional capacity in the Dredge Material Management Area and beneficially using the dredge spoil to create a park in an approximately 80-acre area of Manatee County that has historically been economically depressed. Background: The project requires the removal of up to 300,000 cubic yards of material from the existing Manatee Harbor Dredge Material Management Area (DMMA), transport the material to Washington Park which is approximately 8 miles away, and deposit the material in a specified location. The contractor will not be responsible for grading of the material deposited at Washington Park. The goal of the project is intended to make beneficial use of dredge spoil to create a park in an approximately 80-acre area of Manatee County that has historically been economically depressed. Currently, Washington Park consists of an abandoned shallow borrow pit with vegetation dominated by nuisance and exotic species. Washington Park has the capacity to hold up to 1.1 Million cubic yards of material. Figure 1: Aerials of Port Manatee and neighboring DMMA site (see attached document). -Washington park address, daylight hours only for truck depositing. Extraction can be 24/7. Figure 2: Washington Park 2017 aerial (see attached document). Figure 3: Manatee County's Conceptual design of Washington Park (see attached document). Responses: Industry is asked to provide a written response addressing the following objectives or questions: 1)How will you determine where to extract offload material from the DMMA? 2)What level of dryness is required? 3)Would soil borings of the DMMA assist in pricing the job? 4)How much material would be needed to build a haul road into the WA park site to connect with the placement area? Additionally: There will be a Site Visit scheduled for 23 July 2018 at 9:30 am. Provide your Firm's name, address, point of contact, phone number, website, and email address to Brandon Burch at Brandon.s.burch@usace.army.mil no later than 20 July 2018. Mr. Burch mobile number is 904 402 4158. Responses to this RFI must be received no later than 2:00 pm, EST on 30 July 2018 and shall be sent to Ms. Claurice Dingle at Claurice.M.Dingle@usace.army.mil. NOTE - DO NOT SUBMIT PROPRIETARY AND/OR BUSINESS CONFIDENTIAL DATA. The official Synopsis citing the solicitation will be issued on Federal Business Opportunities WWW.FBO.GOV and inviting firms to register electronically to receive a copy of the solicitation when it is issued. All interested firms must be registered in SAM.gov to be eligible for award of Government contracts.
