- Bio-Data Form Position Description for Public Engagement Events Assistant Solicitation for Public Engagement Events Assistant - Personal Services Contractor The resulting contract shall be awarded solely to an individual located in the Washington, DC Metro area, not to a firm. The individual must have an active DUNS # and an active record int eh System for award Management (SAM). Note: This position is not an employment opportunity with the Federal Government. This position is located in the Department of Congressional and Public Affairs, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). MCC's Department of Congressional and Public Affairs (CPA) is seeking a Personal Services Contractor to serve as a Public Engagement and Events Assistant (PE EA). The mission of the Office of Public Affairs is to communicate information about the Corporation activities, programs, Compact results and policies to engage the public, the private sector, and selected audiences including Congress, the news media, state and local governments, and other Federal agencies. The Public Engagement and Events Assistant is responsible for assisting in the planning of events, confirming logistics, collecting information for internal briefing material, and supporting the overall objective of well-planned internal and external events. The PSC is needed for a period of one year with an option to renew the contract for up to four years. Major Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Manage logistics for MCC-hosted events, including liaising with the IT department on audiovisual needs, arranging for catering - and any other needed equipment or materials; identifying and securing events space at MCC headquarters and other locations. 2. Compile and distribute departmental tracking materials, manage internal processes for key departmental documents, and assist with internal clearance documents. 3. Produce marketing materials, invitations, invitations lists, registration pages, and follow-up communications for approval and distribution. Track invite response and event attendance rates. 4. Work collaboratively with other MCC staff to produce event materials including briefing materials and post-event assessments. 5. Update databases and contact lists. 6. Draft thank you notes, invitations, and other correspondence as needed. 7. Coordinate and manage key stakeholder lists including implementation of, and use of, contact management system. 8. Manage acquisition and use of marketing materials at events in coordination with the creative services team. 9. Check and manage MCC public-facing email accounts and respond appropriately. 10. Performs other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Offerors must meet all the required qualifications described below by the closing date of this announcement. Desired qualifications will only be considered once all required qualifications are met. Candidates must demonstrate that they possess the following: (a) Required Qualifications: • Attention to detail, and ability to work independently. • Ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts throughout MCC, as well as other members of the Congressional & Public Affairs team. • Ability to stay on schedule and produce results in a timely manner. • Ability to analyze and solve problems and issues identified. • Ability to work as a member of a team and with others in a fast-paced environment. • Basic Word Processing skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite) and knowledge of email management systems. • Excellent communication with the demonstrated ability to discuss complex policy issues orally and in writing. • Ability to work cross divisionally with a variety of team members to meet project goals. • General knowledge of U.S. Government foreign affairs operations • Familiarity with various email marketing, contact management, and website design systems • Proven experience organizing logistics for a variety of events and meetings including vendor and budget management • Strong interpersonal, writing and editing skills. • Experience with MCC Key Stakeholders. (b) Desired Qualifications: • Strong interpersonal, writing and editing skills. • Experience managing external stakeholders, including members of the international community and the U.S. Congress. NOTE: All experience must be well-documented on the resume and within the Submission. All aspects of the Submission must specifically show how the candidate meets the qualifications required. Credit may be given for appropriate unpaid and/or part-time work. To receive credit, Submissions must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours worked per week.
