Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture ( USDA ), Agriculture Research Service ( ARS ), in Beltsville, Maryland 20705 - intends to award a sole source fixed price award to the vendor: Metabolon, Inc. - located at 617 Davis Drive, Suite 400, Morrisville, North Carolina 27560-7171at toll-free phone number 1-800-536-9943. The proposed award is being issued under Authority of FAR 6.302-1 ( b ) ( i ), only one responsible source and no other - services - will satisfy agency requirements. The "North American Industrial Classification Code" ( NAICS ) Code is: 541715. This procurement shall be reserved exclusively for small businesses. (USDA) requires the following Global Metabolite Profiling Service - with the following minimum requirements: SOW PIG METABOLOMICS SERVICE Project objective. The primary objective of this work is to identify and quantify hundreds of metabolites found in the intestine or gut contents of pigs and other animals. Scope of work. The project requires sampling of intestinal contents from 10 groups of pigs/animals, 10 samples from each group. The intestinal samples will be sent to Metabolon to perform global metabolite analysis. The Government responsibilities shall include providing the following - •1) Samples to the Contractor; •2) Funding for shipping the samples 3) Ship the samples by overnight method (on dry ice) to the Contractor. Detailed Technical Requirements (Contractor Requirements). The Contractor shall: •1) Test and analyze 100 gut/intestinal samples •2) Prepare a spreadsheet which provides the following information: biochemical detected; KEGG/HMDB links; relative quantitation; microbiome-derived metabolites detected; heat map; and statistical results. Deliverables. The Contractor shall provide a final spreadsheet reporting the parameters identified above and a summary report highlighting biochemical and statistical differences in the groups of interest.
