Description
South Rim Fuels IRSC, Stanislaus National Forest Section 604 (16 USC 6591c) of Public Law 108-148 as amended by Section 8205 of Public Law 113-79, the Agricultural Act of 2014 - grants the Forest Service permanent authority to enter into stewardship contracts or agreements to achieve land management goals for the National Forests or public lands that meet local and rural community needs. Section 8205 supersedes the temporary authority granted to the Forest Service in section 347 of Public Law 105-277, the Omnibus Consolidated and Emergency Appropriations Act, 1999. This contract includes treatments that will be funded by USFS supplemental funds and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the National Disaster Resilience (NDR) grant. Terms and conditions related to the HUD grant will be included in the solicitation and contract. The primary purpose of this project is to reduce hazardous fuels by removal of dead, dying, trees from the landscape and includes treatment of existing dead and down material. Work Activities are to be performed within forest boundaries, along Forest Service roads and adjacent to private property boundaries in preparation of future silvicultural treatments for reforestation. The South Rim Biomass Contract includes 781 acres planned for removal of 29,419 tons Biomass (16,763 ccf woody material), and an additional 5,496 tons over ~922 acres of roadside hazard tree biomass removal (8638 ccf woody material). The total acreage of fuel reduction is 1,639 acres located close to Highway 120. Acreage is adjacent to numerous properties, recreation facilities and infrastructure to Hetch Hetchy Water and Power Systems. All acreages are estimated based on GIS and LIDAR. Road maintenance will be required for roads within and/or adjacent to the project area.

Address: Project is located in multiple sections within Townships 1 South, Range 18 and 19 E; and Township 2 South, Range 19E, Mount Diablo Baseline and Meridian., The locations of the work areas have been identified on the attached maps. Area included is based on the need for fuel reduction and ability to remove the biomass material., The project area is located within Tuolumne County on the Groveland Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest. The project is located within the Rim Fire boundary, this includes primary evacuation route roads, private property boundaries, which provide additional fuel breaks adjacent to the communities of Spinning Wheel, Sawmill Flat, Hardin Flat, Camp Tawonga, Rush Creek and Evergreen Road properties., Groveland, California, 95305, United States
