Description

Fish Trap Slide Removal The specified roads to be maintained are located on Etolin Island. The project begins approximately 11.3 road miles West and North of Starfish Cove LTF (Log Transfer Station) in Anita Bay, at Milepost 5.6 of forest road 51540. The project involves the following work: 1) Clearing the slide areas of fallen timber and debris. Merchantable timber is to be bucked and decked on the downslope side within the clearing limits. 2) Removing 2 slides from the road surface and ditch line on Road 51540 at milepost 5.6. Removed material is to be side cast and grassed seeded. 3) Developing, hauling and placing rock borrow required to fill in any spot where the slide or slide removal operation took out a portion of the road. Designated Borrow will come from slide material. 4) Cleaning and reconditioning of 4 existing culverts 5) Hauling, placing and compacting government furnished crushed aggregate on slide removal areas. Government furnished aggregate is stored in the quarry on Road 6543 at milepost 0.25. 6) Grass seeding and fertilizing areas of disturbed soil. 7) Mobilizing equipment to perform the work. Contractors SAM registration must active in order to be considered for possible award of a contract.
