- THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a Request for Quote/Proposal/Bid and no contract or purchase order will be awarded as a result of this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications, or drawings available at this time. The Military Sealift Command (MSC) has a requirement for the upcoming Mid-Term Availability (MTA) on the USNS BIG HORN (T-AO 198) commencing on or about 01 JANUARY 2019 for fifty (50) calendar days. The USNS BIG HORN has a length of 678 FT, a Breadth of 98 FT, an anticipated arrival draft of 20 Ft Fwd 27ft Aft not including a minimum draft clearance of three (3) feet beneath the keel at mean lower low water (MLLW) (tide ranges may be considered), and is 20,706 tons gross. Area of Consideration is East and/or Gulf Coasts. Estimated date of Solicitation is on or about 13 AUGUST 2018. Major work items associated with this availability include: Miscellaneous Tank Repairs, Miscellaneous Steel Repairs, JP-5 Contaminate Tank Deck Replacement, Cargo Tank Preservation, Main Engine 12K Hour Overhaul, SSDG 60,000 Hour Overhaul, SSDG Vibration Damper Overhaul, Vacuum Sewage System Cleaning, Repair Deck Tile and Underlayment, Winch Control Booth Subfloor Refurbishment, Hydraulic Transmission Heat Exchanger Frame, and Saddle Winch Motor Repair. This requirement will be solicited as a 100% Small Business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a Bid, Proposal, or Quotation in response to the solicitation which shall be considered by the agency. The estimated issue date for this solicitation is on or about 13 August 2018 with an estimated closing date of 18 September 2018. Upon issuance, the solicitation and supporting documentation will be posted and can be found on the Government Wide Point of Entry located at https://www.fbo.gov under solicitation number N3220518R4002. The appropriate NACIS code is 336611. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis.
