Multiple cutting modes of operation (required: single, interval, multi and continuous) 4. Suitable for routine paraffin sections and plastic-embedded specimens including standard and universal (for cassette) clamps to accommodate both specimen types 5. Micrometer feed system that permits precision sectioning from 0.5 to 100um 6. Independently selectable trim and section speeds 7. Approximate 70-72mm specimen cutting stroke 8. Rock option (specimen head advances by a set amount to trim specimens without turning the handwheel through full turns) 9. Manual and/or foot pedal control 10. One-handed zero-orientation head 11. Waste tray 12. Dust cover 13. Water bath for transferring of section ribbons from the blade to the water bath 14. Digital control panel and communication display, including section counter 15. Logistics requirements 1. Must come with a minimum one-year standard warranty on parts and labor on all components. The vendor and/or manufacturer must agree to extend the warranty on parts and labor for an additional year given that the equipment will be operated starting Fall of 2019 when the new Collaborative Sciences Building opens for business. 2. Total cost of actual unit plus accessories (foot pedal, magnifying attachment, universal blade holder for lo and hi profile blades, waterbath), shipping, door to door delivery and unpacking/uncrating service 3. Vendor (or its designated subcontractor) must provide equipment plus accessories and labor (for example: truck with loading platform, planks, carts, tools, white glove service) to transport the units directly to a location within NASA Ames and unpack/uncrate the products as specified by point of contact for delivery. D. Deliverables including the acceptance criteria (for determining whether or not the requirements are met) Deliverables include: 1. Automated rotary microtome as described in B 2. Foot pedal 3. Universal knife holder 4. Magnifying attachment 5. Waterbath 6. Delivery of abovementioned items to actual building and room of end-user (Not to Shipping and Receiving Department). Acceptance criteria are: 1. All Scientific requirements in Section B must be met. 2. All Logistics requirements must be met. 3. The item must be fully unpacked and set-up by the Vendor (or its designated subcontractor) and inspected by the End User for any physical damage. 4. Training staff in instrument use by Vendor's representative 5. Deliver the equipment to building N255 for property tagging and storage until the Biosciences Collaborative Facility (N288) construction is completed and building is ready for move-in (anticipated in July 2019). 6. Upon move-in, the manufacturer shall provide a service technician to visit Ames to train the users and install the instrument in N288 at a designated location, which includes assembling all components, connecting to power, and providing instructions for annual maintenance/calibration support. 7.
