- This is a Request for Proposals Workbench Requirements for New Flight Controls Shop SCOPE. This Purchase Specification (PS) covers the detailed specifications and minimum requirements for purchase, assembly and install of 23 workbenches and 6 printer/oven table for use at Hill AFB, Utah. Items shall be delivered, assembled, and installed at Building 850 (7538 5 th Street, Hall Air Force Base, UT 84056-5701 OVERVIEW. The items furnished shall be the latest improved model in current production, as offered to commercial trade, and shall be of quality workmanship and material. The supplier represents that all items offered is new at the time of delivery. All parts not specifically mentioned, but are necessary for the unit to be complete for operation or are normally furnished as standard, shall be furnished by the supplier. Warranty: The items shall be warranted against all defects in material and workmanship for a period of not less than 12 months/or whatever is provided by the manufacture. If manufacture's standard warranty period exceeds 12 months, then the standard warranty period shall be in effect. Installers Responsibilities: Equipment is to be assembled in strict accordance with the manufacturer's assembly instructions. •· Field Assembly team shall be provided by the contractor •· Provide pallet jack •· Provide Forklift; of sufficient capacity •· Unpack equipment & take inventory of shipped parts - inform home office immediately of •· missing parts •· Provide shims for maximum floor variation of 1 inch •· Check floor variation prior to start of field assembly to determine if additional shims are •· required •· Evaluate floor - level & plumb proposed equipment •· Provide anchoring hardware as required •· Provide cabinet connecting and stacking hardware as necessary •· Provide mechanical erection of the proposed equipment •· Consolidate all debris to pre-determined location on site •· Assemble per manufacturer's recommended assembly instructions •· Arrange customer inspection of material and obtain signed completion acceptance sheet prior to leaving job site. •· Provide appropriate PPE •· Hours of operation shall be between 0630-1700Monday thru Friday (no week-ends or holidays) For each requirement, a part number from the current workbenches is listed, but this Request For Information is for brand name or equivalent feedback. •· Contractor will supply a total of 23 new workbenches, each of which meets the following criteria. Each criterion is followed by a reference number to a part number which fulfills that criterion, found in Table 1. These part numbers are provided as a suggestion, and are not required for an acceptable bid. All parts used in an acceptable bid must be mutually compatible. •· Workbenches will be 90" - 96" inches long at the work table surface. (1) •· The work table surface will be 30" - 32" inches deep. (1) •· The work table surface will be made of an ESD resistant material, and have a rolled front edge. (1) •· The work table surface will be equipped with a metal backstop to prevent small parts from rolling off the back of the work table. (2) •· The work table surface and frame will be rated to hold at least an 800-lb distributed load. (1, 3) •· The work table surface will rest on a frame which allows the height of the work surface to be adjusted without tools between 32" and 40" from the floor, using either an electrically powered system, or a hand crank. (3) •· If the work table frame has a horizontal bar below the work table surface running the length of the work table, that bar will be located at least 20" inches away from the plane made by the front edge of the work table, to allow room for toolboxes and bins to be rolled under the workbench. (3) •· The workbench frame will rest on ESD-resistant casters. At least 2 of the casters will have a locking mechanism. (4) •· The workbench will include one cabinet with three drawers, positioned at one side of the work bench just below the work surface. This can either be a hanging cabinet attached to bottom of the work table surface, or a pedestal style cabinet built into the side of the frame. (5) •· The work bench will include a modular frame mounted at the rear of the work surface, extending usable area 42" - 50" inches above the work table surface. The modular frame will consist of three supports which are equally spaced 42" apart, allowing accessories mounted on the modular frame to be moved and rearranged on either side of the workbench. (6, 7) •· The modular frame will include a bracket to support an overhead light. (8, 9) •· Accessories to be mounted on the modular frame will include: •o A document holder at least 16" wide on a pivoting arm. (10) •o A computer console support on a pivoting arm, capable of holding at least a keyboard, monitor, and mousepad. (11, 12) •o A 42" wide magnetic whiteboard at least 24" tall. (13) •o Two adjustable shelves which are reversible and can be configured to either sit flat with no lip in front, or sit sloped toward the technician with a lip in front, 10" - 14" deep. (14) •o A 42" wide storage cabinet with door(s), whose door(s) will not cover the top of the cabinet when opened. (15, 16) •o One 110 Volt AC power rail with at least 6 standard power outlets, supporting 15 amps, with GFCI protection. (17) •o One rail for holding small, plastic, open storage containers, including two 6" x 6" x 2" boxes, and two 3" x 6" x 3" boxes. (18, 19, 20) •· All painted parts will be black, if optional. Unpainted parts and work surface will be gray, if optional. If locking mechanisms are included on the cabinets/drawers, two keys will be provided for each unique lock, and no two benches will use the same keys. In addition to the above workbenches there will be 6 "printer / oven" tables with the following specifications. Again, the parts numbers referred to are only to assist in receiving feedback. This is ONLY a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (Sources Sought). A vendor may use brand name or equivalent when a quote is officially requested. •· Workbenches will be 90" - 96" inches long at the work table surface.
