Description
SOURCES SOUGHT - Sample Picker The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources who can meet the salient characteristics below and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 334516. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. The Clinical Research Pharmacy Coordinating Center at 2401 Centre Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106 requests the purchase of an automatic sample picker that will handle biological samples in -20C to -80C environment. This equipment should have the ability to pick up samples specified by the operator from multiple input sample racks, and relocate them to a collection area for samples output. The equipment should run automatically without user intervention once the process is started. Furthermore, the equipment should have the ability to maintain the samples integrity when the picking process was stop due to unexpected errors during its automatic operation. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: This equipment should pick sample tubes in -20C to -80C environment This equipment should be able to pick out sample tube specified by the operator This equipment should have the ability to read both 1D and 2D barcode on the tube This equipment should have the ability to identify specific sample by either 1D or 2D barcode. This equipment must have the ability to handle the following lab wares and has the capability to expand 0.5 ml Thermo Scientific MATRIX screw cap tubes (CAT# 4900) 1.4 ml Thermo Scientific MATRIX screw cap tubes (CAT#3741) 1.8 ml Thermo Scientific Nunc tubes (CAT# 377267) 2.0 ml Thermo Scientific Nunc tube (CAT# 374510) This equipment should take a minimum of 10 racks at a time for sample picking This equipment should have the ability to maintain sample integrity (by keeping sample in appropriate temperature.) when an error occurs that interrupts the picking operation in the absence of an operator. The primary cooling source for this equipment should be a compressor powered by electricity This equipment should have a backup cooling source in case of power failure This equipment should pick minimum of about 100 tube/hour at 3% distribution This equipment should be able to run unattended or remotely monitored The normal operation of this equipment should not be dependent on internet connection The dimensions of this equipment should not exceed 72.0 in(w) x 72in(d) due to limited space in the lab The vendor must work with CRPCC to provide the necessary information to get this equipment onto the VA intranet This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than July 9th, 2018 at 4 PM, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov and must include company name, address, point of contact, business size, SDVOSB/VOSB status, and capability information. No telephone responses will be accepted. This notice is to assist the Government in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement.
