- This Sources Sought Notice is being published for the purpose of conducting Market Research to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. This is not a solicitation. All costs associated with providing information, as requested by this Sources Sought Notice, shall be the responsibility of the submitter. Submission is voluntary. The U.S. Geological Survey, National Geospatial Program, has a requirement to purchase of Direct Internet connection service between the Missouri University of Science & Technology (M&ST) in Rolla and NGTOC-Rolla The internet connection service between Missouri University of Science & Technology (MS&T) in Rolla and NGTOC-Rolla allows both institutions access to resources. The university provides additional hardware capability needed to support various GIS projects. The internet connection also provides a medium for exchanging ideas between GIS professionals at both facilities. In order for NGTOC to remain current in GIS, NGTOC must have access to new concepts and ideas; as well as access more sophisticated hardware. Part of that is access to a server that is on their network and part of that is access to the Internet (including the Internet 2) so that we can host data for the Map Locator and Download Service (MLAD). Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1(2), the government considers the item specified as a sole source with Missouri University of Science and Technology, 1870 Miner Cir, Rolla, MO, 65409, and proposes to negotiate with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-response to this request without further consideration. All responses must be submitted NLT 07/10/2018 at 12:00am CST via e-mail to: mfeist@usgs.gov This is NOT a Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), or Invitation for Bid (IFB) and does not constitute any commitment by the Government. Responses to this sources sought notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. All interested sources must respond to future solicitation announcements separately from responses
