This notice shall NOT be construed as solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Responses to this notice is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Network Contracting Office (NCO) 16 is seeking preferably Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses or Small Businesses (but will accept other than small business for market research purposes), capable of providing the Thoramet Surgical Products for Thoracoscopy procedures (lung endosurgery) for the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center located at 2002 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX, 77030-4298. See DRAFT Scope of Work for detailed description of Supplies. The NAICS code is 339112  Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing and the Size Standard is 1,000 Employees. DeBakey VA Medical Center is currently using Thoramet Surgical Products for Thoracoscopy Procedures (Lung Endosurgery). These instrumentations make up surgeons Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) Sets and are manufactured from surgical grade stainless steel with a unique switchback design which allows the surgeon to maneuver through a narrow interspace to perform complex procedures. Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center currently has two VATS sets, but due to the increase in Thoracoscopy Procedures performed in the Operating Room (OR), a third set is needed. OR is requesting one more set to support their caseloads. This purchase will enhance VA s ability to perform surgeries as needed in the OR.
