- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYSNOPSIS and is for informational/market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, QUOTATION, OR BID, NOR A SYNOPSIS OF A PROPOSED ACTION UNDER FAR SUBPART 5.2. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated for providing information in response to this synopsis or on any follow up information. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The purpose for this synopsis is to conduct market research to help identify potential capable sources. Prospective contractors: Please document product capability to fulfill the specifications as cited below: Salient Characteristics: Tow Fish 1.Construction: Marine grade aluminum or stainless steel 2.Built-in variable angle bracket 3.Detachable fins 4.Tow Cable: single coax with Kevlar strength member (700 lb working load) Transducer 1.Dual Frequency transducers operating at 600/1200 kHz and 900/1800 kHz; 2.Pulse Type: Adaptive CHIRP technology. 3.Transducers must be field swappable 4.Transducer beam angle: Horizontal: 0.4 o; Vertical: 24o Computer: 1.Windows 10 based operating system 2.Smart Card reader 3.Display: 15.6 with sunlight readable full HD 1080p display 4.Meets MIL STD 810G and IP65 certifications 5.Memory: 8 GB 6.Integrated GPS with stated accuracy of one meter. 7.Software capable of post processing images to identify substrate. 8.Input/Output Interfaces: Ethernet, USB, RS-232 compatible, and SD card reader. Capabilities: We request the purchase of a high definition side scan sonar system with a tow fish and two sets of transducers capable of conducting in river physical habitat mapping and assessments of areas utilized by green sturgeon within the Sacramento River. A tow fish with field swappable transducers and built in variable angle bracket is a required due to the variable depths (1.5-10+ meters) within the study area.
