Description
The 355th Contracting Squadron intends to issue a sole-source procurement action with Superior Products International II, Inc. for the procurement of the following items: QTY of 100 ea 5-gallon buckets of Sprayable/Strippable Aircraft Preservation Base Coating (NSN 8010PHM00316422) QTY of 60 ea 5-gallon buckets of Sprayable/Strippable Aircraft Preservation Ceramic Top Coating, White (NSN 5640PHM00081283) This requirement is conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b), "Soliciting From A Single Source". This is a notice of intent to award a sole source procurement action and is not a request for competitive proposals. Extensive laboratory testing was conducted on the coating materials provided by Superior Products International II, Inc in Nov, 2015, CTIO Tracking Number: UDRI-J8V1F2-01. Based on this extensive testing by the Air Force Research Lab, Coatings Technology Integration Office at Wright-Patterson AFB, Superior Products International II, Inc's coating formula has been found to meet the Government's needs for Aircraft Preservation Operations at 309 AMARG. Testing revealed the coating materials meet the following desired criteria; "the material must be environmentally friendly, able to be applied by means of air or airless sprayers, roller or brush, to painted aircraft surfaces at temperatures ranging from 40° F to 200°F, effectively seal against rain water intrusion over a 4 year service life while being subjected to the local climatic and meteorological conditions. At the end of its service life the coating must be manually removable by peeling the material, leaving no adhesive residue on the protected surface." Questions on this notice must be received not later than Thursday, 7 June 2018, 3pm PST via E-mail to breysi.stephens@us.af.mil; inquiries will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining what alternate products are available in the commercial market place. The 355th Contracting Office will not reimburse for any costs connected with providing the capability information.
