Description

Sole source justification The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Image Systems, a division of Double Black Imaging, for the purchase of a matched dual-head set of diagnostic monitors. These medical imaging displays support breast imaging with traditional mammography as well as Digital Breast Tomosynthesis exams. The Image Systems displays are the only medical imaging displays compatible with existing Calibration Feedback System software. This software compatibility is necessary to ensure the imaging displays are calibrated properly for DICOM® 3.14 compliance. Because no other imaging displays are compatible with this software, Image Systems displays are the only displays that meet the laboratory's needs. The Image Systems displays allow the laboratory to maintain software compatibility and use one calibration feedback system to calibrate and monitor all medical displays. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS; however, all responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be reviewed by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
