Description

Under the authority 10 U.S.C. 2304 (d)(1)(B)(i), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) intends to award a sole source contract to TDS Automation, Inc. to manufacture up to three heavy lift transports (HLTs) and custom trailer. The HLTs and trailer are critical to support the disassembly, reassembly and maintenance needs of Virginia Class propulsion shaft assemblies. PHNSY & IMF currently owns four HLTs utilizing software proprietary to TDS Automation. Since the HLTs to be purchased must "talk to" and work simultaneously with PHNSY & IMF's four existing HLTs, all HLTs must use the same proprietary software. This is not a request for proposals. Any interested party that believes it can satisfy this requirement may submit a written capability statement. Telephonic responses are not allowed. To be evaluated for technical merit and capability, statements must be received by the stated deadline. In determining whether or not to compete this requirement, the Government has sole discretion.
