- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta VA Medical Center, has a requirement to purchase portable metabolic testing systems. This system allows for wireless, portable metabolic testing (including VO2, VCO2, Ventilation, HR, and energy expenditure) to be performed during a wide variety of activities of daily living. Assessment pre- and post-intervention would make it possible to measure changes in energy efficiency in activities that are more translatable to the everyday lives of Veterans. This machine must be portable and allow for its use in validating real-world movement efficiency across multiple populations (i.e. aging, stroke, Parkinson s Disease) and following various exercise modalities (i.e, walking, cycling, tango) within the Center for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation (CVNR). SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS Must be validated for use in adult populations Must be capable of performing cardiopulmonary gas exchange analysis, including VO2, VCO2, Ventilation, HR, and energy expenditure (and validated for each of these requirements for adult population use). Must be wearable to allow for use during movement tasks. The vendor must be able to provide a product brand name or equal to the Cosmed K5- Wearable Metabolic Technology Unit. Performance Period: Anticipated delivery within 90 calendar days of award, unless otherwise specified at time of order. Type of Contract: Firm Fixed Price This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Monday, May 21, 2018, 4:00 PM, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Elaine DiBucci at elaine.dibucci@va.gov and should include company name, address, point of contact, business size, and product information. The submission must address specifically each of the salient features and the vendor s product meets these requirements. No telephone responses will be accepted. This notice is to assist the Government in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement.
