Description
Request for Quote 12344V18Q0012 Lassen NF Rock/Delivery Solicitation This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The resultant award will be a Firm Fixed-Price Purchase Order. Solicitation Number 12344V18Q0012 is being issued by the Washington Office Enterprise Group as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside with an associated NAICS code of 212319 and small business size standard of 500 employees. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-97 thru Jan. 24, 2018. Pricing for the 3 inch angular crushed rock or gravel that has been washed shall include the Rock (tons), Delivery, and Unloading. Government will only pay for product delivered and not to exceed 929 tons without prior approval by the Contracting Officer. Responses to this solicitation must include all items for a Total Price and a delivery schedule with vehicle to be used. STATEMENT OF WORK This procurement request is for the purchase of: •929 Tons 3 inch angular crushed rock or gravel that has been washed •Delivery The gravel is required for hardened creek crossings around the trail systems by the USFS Enterprise Program Trails Division on the Almanor Ranger District of the Lassen NF. This product must be delivered and unloaded by shipper beginning~07/02/2018. Unloading will span approximately July 2, 2018 through August 5, 2018 as crews spread gravel and must be coordinated with Project Lead Sean Gwin. The Contractor shall provide the necessary equipment and personnel to deliver and unload gravel once they arrive at the proposed delivery location. The delivery truck will need to navigate Forest Service Roads with some steep grades. To ensure proper Delivery method is used visit the site and location of delivery. Department of Transportation 2015 located at: Publication Unit Web site: http://caltrans-opac.ca.gov/publicat.htm 72-4 SMALL-ROCK SLOPE PROTECTION 72-4.01 GENERAL Section 72-4 includes specifications for constructing small-rock slope protection. 72-4.02 MATERIALS Rock must be cobble, gravel, crushed gravel, crushed rock, or any combination of these. If the rock layer is shown as 4-inches thick, comply with gradation requirements shown in the following table: Rock Gradation for 4-inch Thick Layer Sieve size Percentage passing 3 inch 100 2 inch 90-100 1 inch 25-40 3/4 inch 0-10 72-4.03 CONSTRUCTION Local surface irregularities of the small-rock slope protection must not vary from the planned slope by more than 2 inches as measured at right angles to the slope. Small rocks may be placed by dumping and may be spread by bulldozers or other suitable equipment. During spreading, do not crack the rock. 72-4.04 PAYMENT The payment quantity for small-rock slope protection is the volume determined from the dimensions shown or ordered. As stated in Standard Specifications for Construction and Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects FP-14. : 705.02 Riprap. Furnish hard, durable, angular rock that is resistant to weathering and water action and free of organic or other unsuitable material. Angular rock is characterized by sharp, clean edges at the intersections of relatively flat surfaces. Do not use shale, rock with shale seams, or other fissile or fissured rock that may break into smaller pieces in the process of handling and placing. Conform to the following: (a) Apparent specific gravity, AASHTO T 85 2.40 min. (b) Absorption, AASHTO T 85 4.0 percent max. (c) Soundness of aggregate using sodium sulfate, 12 percent loss max. AASHTO T 104 (5 cycles) (d) Los Angeles abrasion, AASHTO T 96 50 percent max. (e) Rock particle intermediate dimension (width) and ⅓ longest dimension minimum dimension (thickness) (length) min.
