- SOURCES SOUGHT/ REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FROM: 379 ECONS/LGCC SUBJECT: Base Entry Control Point Pass Through Vehicle Scanning Requirement THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (R F I) ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS/RFI IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE AIR FORCE TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION OR ULTIMATELY AWARD A CONTRACT. NEITHER UNSOLICITED PROPOSAL NOR ANY OTHER KINDS OF OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED IN RESPONSE TO THIS SOURCE SOUGHT/RFI. NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED PURSUANT TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. All information contained in the Sources Sought Synopsis/RFI is preliminary as well as subject to modification and is in no way binding on the Government. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this request. The information requested will be used solely within the Air Force to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside the agency. The determination of a procurement strategy, based upon the comments submitted in response by interested parties to this Sources Sought/RFI, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The 379 Expeditionary Contracting Squadron, Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), is conducting market research and is requesting information regarding a possible purchase of pass through vehicle scanning equipment. A rough order of magnitude estimate of the amount of time and money it would take for this requirement would be greatly appreciated. Any estimates submitted in response to this RFI would be considered proprietary to the party submitting and would not be available outside the agency. The characteristics for consideration would include: 1. Ability to pass through scan eighty (80) or more vehicles per hour. 2. No greater than two personnel required to operate. 3. Able to accommodate large cargo trucks and fuel/water trucks. 4. Allows operation in both portal and gantry modes. 5. No active radiation source. 6. Operational in conditions including dirt/sand and outside temperatures of 130 plus degrees Fahrenheit. 7. In addition to equipment capabilities stated above, on site operator training is required as well as long term maintenance support including on site technician available to work at AUAB. Please submit your statement of capabilities and any other necessary qualifications or areas of concern for this no later than 21 May 2018 at 0900 hrs. local time.
