- The Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk, Philadelphia Division, Contracting Department intends to solicit on a sole source basis International Mortuary Shipping (IMS), of Union, SC for Mortuary Services for the Navy Casualty Division of the Navy Personnel Command, Millington, TN. This is a bridge action to avoid a loss in service while the long-term competitive follow-on for these services is being processed under Pre-solicitation Notice N0018918RZ007. The period of performance for this purchase order will be for three months from date of award. The Navy intends to solicit for a Firm Fixed Priced purchase order in accordance with FAR Part 12. This procurement is a sole source acquisition with IMS, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. IMS is the only known provider of these services that has the breadth of coverage to facilitate a CONUS network of funeral homes and direct experience in providing services for Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and Naval Personnel Command until the competitive follow-on is awarded. **THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS.** The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 812210.
