- INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE FAR 6.302-1(c) Network Contracting Office (NCO) 2, Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a firm-fixed price sole source contract to The Janz Corporation, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(c): "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The proposed procurement is for the purchase of three (3) Indego Therapy Devices (exoskeleton sizes S, M, L). The Syracuse VMAC is expanding exoskeletal therapy capabilities with the addition of the Indego exoskeleton device. It is the only exoskeletal device with modular design, interchangeable components, can be worn while in a wheelchair, can be donned with one hand and weighs less than 27 lbs. Indego weighs < 27 lbs other exoskeletons weigh over 50 lbs and require 2 people to move Indego can be disassembled by the patient for easy transport - other exoskeletons cannot be disassembled by the patient and require 2 people to move Indego is designed for quick set-up with a single hand strap adjustment Indego can be worn in a wheelchair and a vehicle a special bench is required for other exoskeletons Indego can be used with either a walker or Lofstrand forearm crutches The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334510 and the size standard is 1250 employees. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider responses received by 4:00pm Eastern on May 10, 2018. Inquiries will only be accepted via email to edward.lyke@va.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
