Page 1 of 1 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the DESIGN-BUILD X-Ray Room #3 Site Prep project at the Togus VA Medical Center (VAMC). PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Contractor shall provide Design-Build services to remodel existing space located in B200, 1st floor to support replacement of the existing x-ray equipment in x-ray room 3 (Rm #143) and support spaces room 141 and 141B. Work to include all investigation of existing conditions, design and construction disciplines necessary to provide a complete and operational space for installation of equipment by the equipment vendor. All design work shall be certified and stamped by professionals licensed to practice. Provide 30%, 65%, and 95% design drawings set to the VA with drawings and separate bound specifications for review and comment prior to completion of the construction documents. All contractor employees, including sub-contractors, shall have a minimum of the 10 hr. OSHA safety course. The superintendent and/or on-site supervisor, shall have a minimum of the 30 hr. OSHA safety course certification and deemed as the competent person for the project. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Request For Proposal (RFP) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 15, 19, and 36.3 Two-Phase Design-Build Selection Procedures and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $36.5 Million. The solicitation will be issued on or about May 21, 2018. The period of performance is approximately 270 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to: thomas.council@va.gov.
