- Airborne Electromagnetic Magnetic Survey Covering the San Juan And Silverton Calderas Near Silverton, Co THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. NO FORMAL SOLICITATION IS BEING REQUESTED UNDER THIS NOTICE. This Sources Sought Notice is for market research purposes to identify interested firms for the potential requirement detailed below. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541360 (Geophysical Surveying and Mapping Services) and the size standard is $15 million. The Government will review the information requested in this announcement to determine the type of set-aside (if any) for this requirement, should it come to fruition. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Geology, Geophysics, and Geochemistry Science Center, Denver, CO has a requirement for airborne geophysical data covering the San Juan and Silverton calderas near Silverton, CO using electromagnetic and magnetic methods. An electromagnetic and magnetic system is required that can image lithologic variations and structural controls on groundwater flow in a mountain watershed setting. The USGS requires a platform that is capable of characterizing near-surface properties within the upper 5 m, as well as deeper electrically conductive structures to depths of up to 300 m. In addition, the airborne geophysical platform must be capable of collecting data in areas of steep mountainous terrain at elevations of approximately 2800 m to over 4000 m. These data are intended for rigorous inversion to produce resistivity depth sections to be used in interpretation of the 3-D hydrogeologic characteristics of the calderas. These data will be used to map and characterize geologic structures and their control on groundwater flow. The Contractor shall furnish all travel, mobilization, labor, materials, aircraft and aircraft facilities, and demobilization, except as otherwise specified herein, required for conducting an airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey. The contractor shall provide digitally recorded and processed airborne geophysical and ancillary data. The government has a definite requirement for, and plans to award a minimum of 1,000-line kilometers (km) with an optional ¿Add-On ¿ line up to 1,500-line kilometers (km) pending the availability of funds.
