Description

This project will replace an aged and deteriorated underground fire protection pipeline at Harioshima Ordnance. The ductile iron (DIP) saltwater distribution piping will be replaced with High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and installed underground. Associated hydrants, valves and fittings will also be replaced, and pavement restored. The work is planned to be carried out in two tracks via two separate contract awards, one awarded in United States Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 and one awarded in United States FY 2019. The first track (Phases 1 through 3) is currently planned to be solicited around June 2018 and award by September 2018. The second track (Phases 4 through 8) is currently planned to be solicited around January 2018 and award by March of 2019. Area of each phase is shown in Attachment (1): HO Saltwater Fire Suppression Line. FY2018 (Track 1) “ 2,542 Linear Meters and 20 hydrants, magnitude of construction IAW FAR 36.204 is between $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. FY2019 (Track 2) “ 6,674 Linear Meters and 42 hydrants, magnitude of construction IAW FAR 36.204 is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000.
