Description
Performance Work Statement for 377MSG Mortuary Services The 377 MSG/PKB Contracting Office is acquiring mortuary services for the care and disposition of remains of authorized personnel. The United States Air Force will award mortuary services contracts only to state licensed funeral homes in the local area. The contractor shall provide facilities, equipment, licensed personnel, motor vehicles, professional services, supplies, death certificates, caskets, urns, outer shipping containers, transportation, and perform hygienic practices as specified in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The contractor shall comply with the highest industry standards in fulfilling the terms and conditions of the contract. The contractor shall furnish the material ordered and perform the services specified by the contracting officer or designee as promptly as possible, but not later than 36 hours after receiving notification to remove the remains, excluding the time necessary for the Government to inspect and check the results. The area of performance is the geographic boundaries that determine whether or not the mortuary services contract applies to the services required by the Armed Services and whether or not transportation charges for removal or delivery of the remains may be charged (see DFARS clause 252.242-7004). The goods and services purchased from the contractor will meet or exceed the standards contained within the performance work statement. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the Government reserves the right to perform inspections to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
